Survival rates are favorable in early and middle stages of heart failure through both medication treatments and conventional heart surgery (coronary by-pass, valve operation, etc.). Patients may be supported to some extent with pace makers (ICD-CRTD) in certain cases. However, these measures are usually insufficient in the end-stage.

At this stage, there are currently 2 main options. The first one is “Heart Transplant” and the second is “Artificial Heart” systems.

Heart transplant is performed and artificial cardiac support devices are implanted only by fully equipped hospitals with healthcare teams experienced in heart transplant and artificial heart systems and also an organ transplant program, which is approved and authorized by Turkish Ministry of Health.
