Contrary to the public belief, only cornea is removed for the transplant, not the entire eye.Ocular globe is left in its place.Cornea donations allow patients with complete loss of vision have an eyesight that enables them live comfortably.Volunteers who wish to donate organ and/or tissue can fill in organ and tissue donation cards which are available in university hospitals and state hospitals, where transplant surgeries are performed.According to our laws, cornea can be harvested, unless stated otherwise, due to fact that it is a tissue, but not an organ.

We have performed approximately 250 cornea transplants in the last decade.
